Can I use the footrest without the recline movement?

The footrest and recline movement on our chairs work together as part of a smooth, connected motion. The footrest can only be activated with the first recline. However, the first recline position is designed to be relatively upright, allowing you to comfortably read, chat, or watch TV with the footrest extended.
